Roberto Casula hails from Cagliari, the capital of Sardinia, Italy. He was born in 1962. He is a Mining Engineer from the University of Cagliari and passed out in 1988.
His association with Eni
After completing his graduation, roberto casula joined Eni as a Reservoir engineer in 1988. He worked in Milan till 1991.
He was then transferred to Luanda, Angola in 1992. There he served as a Petroleum engineer till 1993. He was then promoted to the position of Chief Development and Production Engineer and held the post from 1994 to 1997.
In the year 1997, he returned to Milan and was given the responsibility of Development and Production Co-coordinator till 2000. From the year 2000 to 2001 he was the Department Manager of technical services that were based in Milan, Italy.
Roberto Casula was in Tehran, Iran from 2001 to 2004 as the Project Director of South Pars phases 4-5. In 2004 he was the MD of Eni Mediterranea Idrocarburi SpA, Gela, Italy, a sister company of Eni.
His connection with Africa continues.
He was appointed the Managing Director of Eni North Africa BV in Tripoli, Libya from 2005 to 2007. From October 2007 to December 2011 he was given the responsibility of Senior Vice President for the Sub-Sahara Region. There he completed his duty while being the Chairman of Eni Nigerian subordinates based in Nigeria’s Abuja.
Roberto Casula was given the prestigious post of Executive Vice President for Eni Africa and the Middle East. He held this post from December 2011 to May 2014.
From June 2014 to September 2018 he was given the responsibility of Chief Development, Operations and Technology Officer of Eni where he led 3000 people in the headquarters and 9000 people throughout the world.
